We know that when you or family members are in the hospital, understanding the process can be very overwhelming. The Social Services department at Nevada Regional Medical Center provides information, referral, counseling, crisis intervention, care coordination, and discharge planning services to inpatients and outpatients and their families in a supportive, caring and confidential environment. Services are provided by professionally educated and trained social workers, bachelor and master levels, certified and licensed.
Services provided include:
- General information about a broad spectrum of topics, especially medically related
- Referral to appropriate resources
- Financial information
- Crisis intervention
- Advocacy and collaboration
- Help to develop personal strengths for now and in the future
Working as a part of the interdisciplinary treatment team at Nevada Regional Medical Center, the social workers assist physicians and medical staff in ensuring the overall well-being of the patient.
The social services department helps individuals and their families to minimize the stress associated with illness and injury as they move through the medical care continuum.
Our goal at NRMC is to empower the patients and families to achieve the best they can within their own environment upon leaving our facility.
In addition to direct patient care, social services also coordinate the "No One Dies Alone" program (NODA).
