Turner Joins NRMC Primary Care Center

Nevada Regional Medical Center (NRMC) is pleased to announce that Amanda Turner, M.D. has joined NRMC Primary Care Center, located at 627 S. Ash Street in Nevada and is now accepting new patients.

“Dr. Turner is an excellent addition to our rural health clinic system,” said Wes Braman, Interim Chief Executive Officer of NRMC.  “She has a strong work ethic and friendly bedside manner. We are so pleased she is staying in Nevada and helping to keep growing families healthy.”

Born and raised near Rolla, Dr. Turner’s roots are in rural Missouri. As a child, she remembers enjoying the challenge of helping others with difficult problems, from homework to dealing with real-life situations. Now, her role as a physician allows her to exercise that problem-solving ability on a daily basis.

“I understand the challenges we face with access to medical care. I do my best to work with each patient, within their own means, to keep them as healthy as possible,” Dr. Turner said.

Dr. Turner earned her Bachelor’s degree at Truman State University and her Medical Doctorate at University of Missouri, Columbia School of Medicine. She completed a Rural Obstetric Fellowship at Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. In the fall of 2015, she came to practice family medicine and obstetrics at Nevada Medical Clinic (not a service of NRMC). She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

At Primary Care Center, Dr. Turner provides preventive and primary care for men and women of all ages. She also provides obstetric care for pregnant women all the way to delivery, including Cesarean births, at NRMC.

Since moving to Nevada three years ago, Dr. Turner has seen NRMC go through many changes.

“I admire the progress that NRMC has made during my time here and I feel like we are headed in a positive direction for the future,” she said.
