NRMC to host 15th annual Community Health Fair
This spring, Nevada Regional Medical Center (NRMC) will host the 15th annual Community Health Fair. This is the single largest health event in Vernon County attracting more than 200 area residents each year. The health fair will be held at the Osage Prairie YMCA at 500 W. Highland in Nevada on Saturday, April 6th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Several local health and safety organizations will be in attendance, offering door prizes and free demonstrations and/or screenings to the public. The Vernon County Health Department will offer car seat checks in front of the YMCA and local safety vehicles will be on display including the Nevada Police and Fire Departments and Vernon County Ambulance.
To commemorate the 15th annual year of the event, NRMC plans to incorporate new, hands-on and entertaining games and demonstrations, even an escape room.
“We want this health fair to be a resource for our community,” said Natalie Eberhard, Community Relations Manager at NRMC. “I guarantee if you come to the event, no matter your age, you will have fun and learn something too. There’s also a pretty good chance you or a family member will win a prize!”
In conjunction, the YMCA will host their first World Health 5K Walk/Run the same morning of the health fair. This is an all-ages event that will be divided into four age groups. Registration forms are available at the YMCA and the fee is $20 in advance, or $25 the day of, and includes a tee-shirt. Check-in for the race will begin at 8 a.m. and the race will begin at 9 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three racers in each age group, by gender. Proceeds will benefit the Osage Prairie YMCA Annual Campaign and the NRMC Foundation Endowment Fund.
Booth spaces are free but space is limited. For more information, please contact Nevada Regional Medical Center Community Relations at (417) 448-3801 or email email@example.com.
