NRMC Names CFO, CNO
Nevada Regional Medical Center (NRMC) announces the appointments of Dana White as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Tara Garrett as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), effective June 1.
White, previously the Controller at NRMC, will be taking over the Interim CFO role previously held by Steve Graddy of Freeman Health System. Graddy will still be a resource to White and the Accounting department at NRMC as part of the management contract with Freeman. Although her title has changed, White’s job duties remain much the same as she oversees the operations of the accounting, payroll and financial departments.
Although she lived in many states prior to moving to Nevada, MO as a teen, White is a graduate of Nevada High School. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with an emphasis in Accounting from Missouri Southern University and is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. White has more than 15 years of experience as a controller. Prior to becoming the controller at NRMC in July of 2013, she worked at Moark, LLC based in southeast Missouri. Her personal interests include travel, scrapbooking and spending time with family. She has two daughters, one of whom was born at NRMC.
“Although I haven’t always lived here, I feel personally invested in this community,” says White. “My father’s family is from here and as a child, I spent many summers at my grandparents’ home in Nevada. I have worked hard and will continue to do so to make sure our community has quality healthcare.”
Garrett has been promoted from Clinical Administrator to CNO. She will be taking on more responsibility by overseeing Ancillary services including pharmacy, radiology and rehabilitation services. This comes after the retirement of Ancillary Director, Gary Headrick, after 49 years with NRMC.
“I would like to congratulate Gary on his retirement,” says Garrett. “Even though I am happy for him I will truly miss his smile and seeing his white coat coming down the hall. Gary has handed over his ancillary leadership reins to me and I look forward to building a cohesive team between nursing and ancillary. I am proud to work for NRMC and enjoy strengthening the relationships we have with our patients and each other.”
Originally from northwest Iowa and later Rapids City, SD, Garrett moved to Walker, Mo with her parents during her senior year of high school. Following graduation, she earned her practical nursing diploma in Nevada and then received her registered nurse degree from the University of New York.
Garret brings nearly 30 years of nursing experience to her role. In February of 2018, she was promoted from OB Manager to her most recent role as Clinical Administrator. Prior to joining NRMC, she worked in the newborn intensive care unit at Freeman Health System in Joplin, MO and as Director of Patient Services at Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City, MO.
Garrett is a fan of the outdoors, enjoys hunting and spending quality time with her family, including children and grandchildren.
“Dana and Tara are very deserving of their new titles,” says Steve Branstetter, NRMC Chief Executive Officer. “They are both very professional - dedicated to their jobs, our community, and the hospital. Additionally, this is the first time in a long time that both the CEO and CFO are employees of NRMC.”
