NRMC Hosts Annual Employee Block Party

or the third consecutive year, Nevada Regional Medical Center has held a block party for employees, taking advantage of cooler fall weather and blocking off Adams Street directly behind the hospital. This year on Friday, September 22nd, the cool weather didn’t make its appearance, but plenty of employees and their family members were in attendance to enjoy the festivities.

Chief Executive Officer Kevin Leeper donated a whole hog which was smoked and served along with jumbo hotdogs. Department directors took the opportunity to serve employees the meal while others began to seek face painting, balloon creations, and bounce house jumping. The hired DJ helped to orchestrate a cake walk, to which several employees and hospital volunteers contributed tasty homemade prizes.

NRMC employees were also treated to a “free” jeans day.  Typically jeans days are participated in by paying employees and funds are collected for a charity such as Relay for Life or United Way. This day, employees also donned hospital-gifted t-shirts commemorative of the hospital’s 80th year of service. The block party is organized by employee volunteer members of the NRMC PRIDE Team.
