NRMC Foundation Purse Bingo Raises $10k for Hospital

Nevada Regional Medical Center Foundation hosted its third annual Designer Purse Bingo fundraiser Sunday, June 25. With each year, event attendance has increased dramatically, this year nearing capacity for the Nevada Elks Lodge bingo hall.

Bingo players were treated to a buffet of attractive appetizers catered by Count On Us Catering who also sponsored the event, along with Nevada Griffons Baseball. Several Griffons players volunteered time to attend tables, serving drinks and taking away trash.

Between bingo prizes, a silent auction and door prizes, a total of forty-one donated purses were won by attendants, including the blackout bingo prize of a gently used Louis Vuitton handbag valued at more than $1000.

After expenses, the purse bingo raised a total of $10,000 to support the programs and services of NRMC. Subsequently, the Purse bingo committee was awarded the peer nominated August Galaxy Award. This award is part of NRMC’s monthly recognition of employees who exemplify NRMC P.R.I.D.E. values of professionalism, responsibility, integrity, dedication, and excellence. Purse bingo participant and NRMC employee Samie McCullough nominated the Purse Bingo Committee for their efforts and accomplishments.

“The set up was amazing and enjoyable for everyone,” said McCullough. “They had many activities to participate in so that everyone had multiple chances to walk away with a prize of some kind.”
