NRMC Announces Closures

Nevada Regional Medical Center announced today that the NRMC Board has made the difficult decision to close the Home Health and Hospice services along with the Sheldon Family Medical Clinic, located in Sheldon, Missouri.

NRMC has continued to struggle to return to profitability over the past several years.  Declining government reimbursements and the saturation of the market has contributed partly to the decision to eliminate the above services.

“Though system wide we have shown some encouraging improvement in 2017, we still have a major catch up to make in our required cash reserves.” stated Kevin Leeper, Chief Executive Officer.

To stop known major losses in a couple of areas will help the recovery of the overall system.  The final closure date has not been determined at this time.   NRMC will be using the month of September to find other treatment plans for the current patients and it is our plan to place many of the affected employees in other open positions within Nevada Regional Medical Center.  “We truly value the tremendous efforts made by the staff in each of these areas, but our market conditions have simply been too challenging to make these areas financially viable,” stated Leeper.
